The counter knife performs a critical, but often overlooked, role in the chipping process. The counter knife is critical in reducing the size of the chip.
Salestech supply three (3) types of Counter Knives:
- Standard solid tool steel thru-hardened
- Wearproofed High Speed Steel inlaid
- MAX Tungsten Carbide inlaid
A wearproofed counter knife will last up to four (4) times longer than a standard knife with The MAX counter knife being widely used in whole-log chippers. The MAX knife will not last forever, but you could forget how to change it before it wears out.
